Take Time, Put into perspective…

By PaulPetyt on July 17, 2020

Do you ever get lost in your thoughts, overwhelmed by all the problems that come up to your mind?

I have a really simple exercise that I use personally, and today I will share it with you.

To do this exercise, you need to understand first that your health (physical as well as mental) comes before anything else. You can’t put your work or your loved ones before you.

When you notice that you are overwhelmed, stop everything that you do and go out. Either for a quick walk or simply on a balcony.

Try to analyse your feelings and accept them.

Nothing is more frustrating than fighting against your own thoughts.

Take a deep breath, notice if you have any tensions in your body and release them gently.

The most important thing to do is just being present and feeling yourself. Try to let go of the problems that overwhelmed you before you came to that safe space; yourself.

Then, try to put everything into perspective. Remember there is always a jobless person who would love to have your job; There is a child without access to education who would love to go to the school you are bullied in.

Experiencing gratitude, thankfulness, and appreciation tends to foster positive feelings, which in turn, contribute to your overall sense of well-being.

Remember, it is the most painful experiences that teaches us the best lessons. Some days will be easy, some days won’t. But If you keep your head up and keep pushing, only great things will be waiting for you.

This ‘ritual’ worked for me; it is simple but effective.

The most important detail to remember is that your health should be your priority, once you get it, you are one step closer to yourself.
