Dare to be yourself!

By PaulPetyt on August 6, 2020

“Just be yourself” is a simple phrase for a very difficult task. We are all the same, yet all so different. We come to this world to serve a mission, yet it is up to us to decide what the mission is.

Often times people spend their lives trying to fit in, to please others and mirror their behavior.

We consciously comfort ourselves to become what others would prefer us to be, or what we think others want us to be instead of being who we are meant to be.

It may be behaving a certain way to please your boss, wearing a certain piece of clothing because it’s the trend or believe in something to get into a community.

“If you end up with a boring miserable life because you listened to your mom, your dad, your teacher, your priest, or some guy on television telling you how to do your shit, then you deserve it.”

Frank Zappa

Starting the journey of discovering yourself might be difficult. Some people might poke at you, make fun of you. You might even lose some friends. But I can assure you that it will be the most wonderful journey that you will ever take. Because this is a journey to your happiness and fulfillment.

There are plenty of other benefits that you will get along your way. You will be able to trust yourself and your gut feeling. Your creativity and talents will bloom like never before. You will attract the right people to you.

Today I will give you some advices on how you can discover your true self.

  1. Free your mind

Why don’t you go for a weekend away all by yourself? Cut yourself from social media for a weekend? Or enjoy a sleep in?

We often have so much stimulants from the outside world and people, so it’s understandable that we might lose connection with ourselves.

Get to feel what pleases you and gives you a pleasure, so you don’t have to worry to please others or how they view you.

2. Appreciate who you are

Now that you discovered who you are. Appreciate it. I am sure that you found something unique about yourself, and there is no doubt that there is anyone else on this planet like you. How awesome, isn’t it!?

Take moment to appreciate who you are, celebrate small victories. You are not more than anyone else, you are not less than anyone else.

You are just you and that is great.

3. Be confident with who you are

Now you are ready to go back to your everyday schedule, don’t go back to everyday life. Stick to the new person that you found within you and let the confidence shine right through.

Stop being negative about yourself.

The way people see us, is the way we feel. If we feel ashamed people will sees this way.

Step it up, you just discovered how unique you are show it to the world and let it boost you to the top.

The sky is the limit.

4. Learn from your mistakes

Don’t be afraid to fail, you can really learn more about yourself by try and fail method. Mistakes in your life do not always need to be seen negatively. Think about what went wrong, learn from it, and move on.

5.Strive to achieve your goals.

When it comes to being happy, it is vital that you learn how to be yourself and to be more positive. It is also important to aim to achieve your goals.

The closer you get to your goals, the more you will connecter with your inner self.
